I think I need new shocks. my first thought is Tokico d spec because they are adjustable but seem like they would be good for the street also. There are tons of threads and information on shock absorbers and everyone has an opinion but for my application where I do not want to lower the car and just want a slightly firmer ride then stock, similar to the nismo. I'd like your suggestions

I decided to cave in a buy the Nismo lower side skirts from Courtesy Nissan in Texas. The cost shipped will be $721.31.
Here is my reasoning: I have rare and expensive OEM front and rear Nismo bumpers (and some interior pieces). If I buy the replicas and paint them, it will cost $500 in the parts plus paint (paint is expensive in case you didnt know). Then....if I find used OEM side skirts, that will be another $500 in parts and paint if the seller is reasonable. If I buy the OEM pieces now and paint them it will be about $900 and it will be done and over with and I will have all an all OEM nismo body kit.
I should receive them in about 12-14 days.
Im also considering buying some black leather with red stitching from redline and covering the door panel arm rests, center arm rest, and handbrake handle and shifter. The Nismo has red stiching and black leather on the door panels but they are rare and expensive.

Yes I do.. The skirts will be in Texas from Tennessee by Thursday and then it takes another 3 to 4 business days to get to So Cal. In the mean time, ill buy more super black paint and clear coat and get ready for their arrival. The weather that weekend will be nice for painting (75 to 80 degrees)

I have some OEM Nismo door panels on their way to me. I should get them next week. I had a weird dream about the Nismo side skirts. I dreamed that I got them early, but they were way too short and one of them was broken in about 3 or 4 pieces. I was trying to figure out how to glue them together to I could mount them on the car, even though they were about 3 feet too short!

I acquired a barely used shift **** from a 2012 GTR. Its much nicer looking than the giant OEM ****. The original **** comes off very very easily by removing the lower trim ring from the **** and pulling out the clip. the GTR **** has the same pieces. It has a lower trim piece that pops off and a similar looking clip that holds the **** to the shaft. The **** slipped on easily and clip into place but the button on the top did not activate the lever. I will need to get another small plastic piece that sits on top of the shaft and modify it in order to have it slip into a small hole inside the GTR **** and allow the button at the top of the **** to activate the shifter.
Original ****:
GTR ****
the GTR **** is 1 inch lower overall. But the bottom of it sits higher up from the console. There are two choices to remedy this. The first choice would be to cut down the shaft to the same level where the GTR **** sits in the actual original car. This choice eliminates the possibility of using the original **** again. The second choice is to install a leather boot which goes from the **** and surrounds the console. This gives it a nice finished look and also gives the illusion that it is a manual transmission if that is important enough. Many cars today use a leather boot to make it look like it is a manual transmission.
I will go with the second choice and get a booth at fits around the console. I will also fabricate some kind of plastic piece that will go over the shaft and will go into the GTR **** to allow it to activate the transmission

the problem is that the larger wing likely would not look good on a convertible which is why i went with the v1 wing. if someone wants to photochop a v3 wing on a vert id love to see it!!
My Nismo side skirt extensions came in today. Looks like I have a weekend painting project!!

I still say a removable hard top would completely sell the Nismo theme. All the top model roadsters have them, s2000 cr, Mazdaspeed mx5, etc so it makes sense that a Nismo would too
