Although I had a '99 Miata for 4 years, (so I'm obviously all about the convertibles..) I really think the 350 NEEDS it's top...I'm leery of seeing one chopped, I really don't think it'd look as good. Guess we'll see how they handle it...

Nissan said it will not be a tee-top. I've had a couple of Ragtops (vette and Jeep). They are cool for a couple of years, but after that, rattles and rips. Never again. Also limited security

I'm about to sell my MR2 Spyder to get my new Z. The convertible
concept is really fun, but if your girlfriend has long hair like mine,
she's not gonna let you put the top down much anyway!

Also, I've been told that the body of a convertible is never as
rigid, which I guess means handling suffers.

I can't imagine they'll be able to reproduce the sleek roofline with a ragtop. I personally think the convertible will be the one that really looks like a TT. The coupe doesn't look like the Audi at all to me, though.

I have a STRONG feeling it will be a hardtop convertible, like the lexus or mercedes....
The roof line defines the Z. Look how the S2K looks like with the top on....
The price? Probably around $40K ?

Default Ragtop Z.....nah

The Z-Car is, was and always will be a COUPE. The roofline and hatchback body give the Z it's character. The convertible will be cool for some, probably at better than $40k, but give me a real Z, with a roof!

By the way, the covertible pics I have seen really do look like a TT conv.

I found a picture of the upcoming 350Z convertible from a Japanese site. Not sure how recent it is. Does anyone else know of any other convertible photos?

I think you might want to wait for the Nov. 2002 for some clarifications. Info may be a little amiss.
But what do I know, eh?
