Default oil catch can--will this work

oil catch can--will this work

This catch can has a tube that will lead the oil to the bottom of the can and internal baffling (there are actually 2 internal chambers) to keep the oil there. Extremely efficient design that keeps the oil in the can without using the steel wool mesh that has been know to let loose steel pieces that can end up in your engine and damage it. This is as good as it gets in modern catch can design!

Catch the oil and moisture that are caused by engine blow by gasses that cause sludge and carbon buildup inside the engines intake tract, heads, and valves especially on turbocharged cars and trucks. The oil catch can will keep your engine clean and at peak performance for years to come!

Yeah, just use the filter plug or you will leak vacuum.

The way the VQ is set up you don't bring in outside air. Just filtering the air that is getting pulled from the valve cover. But I believe most cars (240s, civics...)would use the breather filter.

albino bob is correct about not using the filter. I don't view it as leaking vacuum rather allowing unmetered air into the IM. I've had their original design catch can (no breather filter) for a while and even without the drop tube it works perfectly fine. If you do decide to go with this one you can go ahead and throw their tubing directly into the trash can and buy a heavy heater hose to use instead. Between radiant engine heat and hot gases traveling through it you need tubing that won't collapse under vacuum.

I was interested cause it was baffled and I was not able to find much models here with baffles rather than steel wool
