For turn signals and whatnot, it can be done. However, I'm keeping this mod simple. The LED strips are wired to my parking lights. It actually doesn't look "cheap" at all. It definitely turns lots of heads.
In my 350Z, I had LED bumper reflector lights (EVO-R) with positive responses. Consider this mod an evolution from my 350Z. :-)
Now my front end is begging for a CF front lip to compliment the headlights.
I think it looks good when you replaced the tiny bulbs with blue one's, but the knightrider action looks cheap.
I don't have the Knight Rider effect. The LED strip is wired directly to the parking lights, so no special effects there. CiNcity used my headlights to demo some effects and lighting options for customers.
The tiny bulbs are actually white, but they're around the 6500K range. It shows up a bit blue on the camera. In person, it is much more white.

Thanks! The project started in Feb., and they managed to get the headlights around March (ordered brand new set). So I'm guessing a couple of months since this was their first set. I think it's well worth the mod since the car looks so much meaner now, and the lights definitely stand out (much like LED reflector lights for the 350Z 6 years ago).
I didn't have any issues with service and communication. I check up with them and call them, and they'll even call back and text me. I try not to make their life hard, and they took my concept and suggestions very well (from a photoshopped photo). Understand that they're swamped with lots of projects, plus weekend life is offwork time. So the project was planned in advance and started a couple of months before my Z arrived.
