Hey guys, whenever I start accelerating or taking a turn to the right my car sounds like a diesel engine just for like 3 seconds. Anyone know what the problem could be? I'll take video and post it. I think it makes the same noise at a certain rpm level I believe 4500 rpm.
I've been trying to take video but it's too quiet on it. Its kinda like a rattling sound. I'll keep trying though. It's really annoying. Maybe I should just take it to the stealership :-/
Sounds very similar to valvetrain noise caused by oil starvation. I know because my 370 eats over a quart every thousand miles and I got to find out one day when, as you said, it started sounding "like a diesel engine".
I know it's been awhile since I posted, but I took the car to Nissan and they said its pre-detonation. They claim all 370's have pre-detonation problems because of the quality of gasoline. Even though I fill premium every time, they said its better to use non-ethanol gasoline. They recommended trying octane booster to see if it gets rid of the pinging. Only happens when I'm accelerating around 1,000-1,300rpm. It's bullcrap. It's annoying when it happens, and it only happens here and there not every time I roll out. Sounds like a darn diesel.
