How do you fix a curbed rim???
Just curbed my back rim while leaving the bank The mark is about 2 inches long and made the outside of the lip pretty rough. Is there anyway to buff that out...........should I get a bodyshop to do it? The wheeel is Axxis matrix with the polished lip if that makes any difference.
Thanks for any help!

I curbed mine pretty bad as well, a long 8inch grind. They're stock rims though. I got a quote for 130 to fix it. A buddy did 2 of his rims and they look perfect, can't even tell where they were.

I've used mobilewheelrepair.com. A technician comes out to your location (home or work) to repair the wheel. They do great work for very reasonable prices. I've had two wheels repaired for about $60-70 each.
Good luck!

You could conceivably just use a grinding wheel to remove any burrs and then fill in any cavities with some sort of body filler and then repaint the damaged area.
Weekend warriors could probably do it themselves without too much trouble.

I reccomend a shop but if you want to attempt this here is what I did,
I just curbed mne aboiut a month ago. I had bought em 2 weeks prior to the incident. I should have done a write up but heres what I did:
TAKE RIM OFF CAR(dont attempt on car. you will get paint on your car)
Foist: Clean off the damaged area, I washed with soap then a bit of rubbing alcohol.
Next, Tape off the area with painters tape. Try to get as close to the damaged area as possible to make it less noticable. Take some body fillerand smooth into damaged area. Make sure not to use too much as it will be to thick and you will have to sand too much. Remember you can always use more as needed.
Next is the crappy part. Sanding...Use a lower grit to get to basic shape, then use higher grits until you get it where u like it. More sanding is always better of course I went to lowes and bought a multipack with like 7 grits in it.
Next: With the area smoothed and good I used a black primer(my wheels are black) or if you have stockers use a gray primer as it will be better color matched.
Makes sure you have the whole tire and complete area taped off. you dont want to get paint anywhere on the tire if you are not planning to take off the tire to do the job. I went to autozone and they had a selection of colors. I bought a few different cans of different blacks to make sure I can get as close as possible. I began lightly spraying mist from left to right to get the texture right. After I let dry, pull the tape off to see how it looks. you might have some lines of paint from where the tape was. I resanded a few time to get it to blend.
They look perfect again, I hope to get some pics up so u can see my mastery in this But I wouldnt have any before pictures as I forget my camera most of the time..
Hope tis helps
