I don't believe it morally or legally wrong to download a TV show off of the internet that is

(a) not available on DVD
(b) can easily be Tivo'd and shared amongst friends anyway

in other words, why should it be legal on Tivo but illegal on a computer. The end result is the same, you possess a copy of the TV show on a hard drive, you can copy/backup the data, show it to friends and family, etc. In fact the Tivo is a computer. It really makes no difference. What is to stop me from sharing my Tivo or my Tivo'd show with my friends? Nothing -- so there should not be any reason why it is wrong to download TV shows that aren't available for purchase.

If legal expert Low J disagrees I'm sure he can come up with a news article where someone was sued or arrested for downloading TV shows.

I don't pirate music or games, but TV shows that are Tivo-able I do download. just search on any torrent site and look for the show you want, try to get an HD version and look for a high number of seeders.

The format for searching is usually something like this: "24 s04e11" for the show "24", season 4, episode 11.

i'd recommend uTorrent since it is very powerful and uses minimal resources compared to other torrent programs.
