Horrible phone.
I haven't tossed it because I have my blackberry as well. I try and keep personal calls and txt messages separate from my company blackberry. I work in a technology firm and there are just way too many nosey technical people that don't need to know my personal business.
Since getting the LG VU two months ago, I started making 90% of my personal calls and txt's on my company blackberry.
Here is a list of hates:
- Keyboard touchscreen is too small for fingers to type fast
- Autocorrect software for texting is retarded
- using the browser is useless because unless you have fingers like a hobbit, you won't be able to use the scroll bar
- A serious lack of options and customization. I can't have the phone ring on, but mute all the annoying menu sounds. Or the address book only stores name, and multiple numbers, but won't differentiate the multiple numbers from each other (ie, Mobile, Home 1, Pager, Home 2, Business) so what you're left with is Mobile and a whole bunch of alternate numbers
- The menu navigation is retarded. There are multiple steps to do the simplest of activities
- The software for your laptop to sync with your address book was a last minute afterthought and doesn't work well
- You can use a fully keyboard to type a text message, but you can't use a full keyboard to enter in names in your address book
- Battery life is horrible. I carry two phones. I do at least 80% of my talking on the blacberry. I still run out of battery with the LG VU. I do about 2000 minutes a month on the LG. I run out of battery every day.
-And there's a crap load of more problems that make the phone one of the crappiest phone's I have ever owned
Things I like:
- Screen vibrates when you touch it (force feedback)
- Camera is pretty good
- Not everyone seems to have the phone.
