Writing at 100 - 135 MB/sec with eSATA. (even seen it go up to 175MB/sec for a few files)
Can't believe I waited so long to get this. I have so much stuff that needs backing up at home and at work.

Enclosure with USB 2.0 and eSATA and a nice quiet fan. It has some ricer blue LEDs on the fan but I could clip them off if it bugs me.
Mounting took about 5 mins, it's obviously config-free and fast... gotta love it. HD stays nice and cool with this enclosure even during long sustained writes. Only thing it's missing is firewire... but I'll get by with USB if I have to use it on a legacy SATA-free computer.
I went with the enclosure+OEM-HD instead of the retail-external-HD because now I can be assured the drive is a quality unit, and most of the retail ex-HDs have terrible reviews...
