Some of you guys aren't paying attention: Robin said he's going with a DLP HDTV - that automatically means "not the latest technology". It is, though, a very good choice if room permits, as the picture can be superb, and is the lowest price for picture/performance ratio right now.

Robin: keep frequenting slickdeals.net, and watch for deals. Also, keep your eyes on this site:

I also like Vanns.com quite a bit. Just keep checking for daily deals. DLP's pop up all the time. I'd highly recommend the 73" Sammy that you cited - great choice.

If money is secondary, I'd go with a Samsung DLP with LED backlighting instead of the bulb - better illumination distribution, and longer life.
