For home theater, spend your money on the speakers and buy a cheap and/or used basic receiver for now. Save up a few more bucks and get a nice receiver later. Speaker technology really isn't moving much, so what's nice today will still be nice in 5 years. Receivers are constantly be upgraded. So what's great today will be old technology in 5 years.
