Hey all,
I cleaned my k&n panel filter, and oiled it this evening approximately 3 hours ago. How long should I wait for the filter to dry before I can reinstall? K&N's site is saying only 1 hour, but that seems too quick.

well they did make the the cleaner and oil so i'm pretty sure they know what theyre talking about

I put mine on right away never any issues in the past 5 years. A little oil isn't going to hurt anything, it probably won't even make it to the intake.

Hopefully you let the filter dry overnight before you oiled it. The oil doesn't "dry out", it soaks into the filter. That's why they say one hour.

dry flow ftw on Zs. on my other cars with K&N, i leave them overnight to be sure.

If you’re asking us I would bet that you are one, going to over oil the filter or two, not put enough. I suggest you leave the filter over night.

Your maf sensor is gonna be really mad at you if you get her oil-ly trust me she'll let you know

Probably a good idea to clean your MAF sensor a few days after you clean and re-oil your filter...

I let mine dry over night after cleaning it. oiled it in the morning and installed it later in the evening. you could get by after letting the oil settle in after an hour, I just didn't want to risk any of it gummin up my MAF. did not want to clean that son of a *****.
