Tires Size For My 2004 Nissan 350Z
hi,
i have just bought new tires for my 2004 Nissan 350Z. The issues is that as you know the rear tires size are different from front ones as rear are 225/50/17 and front are 235/50/17. I couldn't find 235/50/17 i found 235/55/17 & 225/50/17 so i bought the 225/50/17. Is there any problem with that? I bought brand called Toyo

since there is more than a 3% increase in overall diameter bumping the rears up from 235/50/17 to 235/55/17, you may have issues with TCS/VDC. if you already have them on your car, drive around for a while doing lots of turns in a parking lot or something and see if you notice anything with the traction control kicking in. If so, you may need to try a different tire size for the rears.

what i got for my car for both sides are the
225/50/17 and it works fine. it's written on the
door that i should use for front i guess 235/50/17
but i used the same as the rear which is 225/50/17.

I use 255/45/17 because i could not get the Goddyear F1's in the stock rear size.
The 255 will bulge out more but it didn't bother me very much. But this tire is MUCH closer to the stock diameter, which is what you should try to achieve
here is a pic to explain...
I would STAY AWAY form the 225/55/17 as the TCS will not be happy. You will need to disengage it everytime because it will kick in when you least expect and get rear eneded.(trust me on this one)
I hope you like oversteer because 225's on the rear of even a stock Z will create a more tail happy car.
The 255 will bulge out more but it didn't bother me very much. But this tire is MUCH closer to the stock diameter, which is what you should try to achieve
