Default Sorry for the short Downtime today

The website was running slow so I thought I'd optimize the database to help speed things along..

Because people don't have this ridiculous monstrous sig pics four or five times in a thread.

No, sigs don't make the pages long to load, the database and server itself going slow was the reason why. The images themselves may take time to load depending on where they're loading from, but I was referring more to pages loading when navigating thru the site.

Sig. pics. are hosted on other sites so all that does is make your page load slower. It's not actually the page that's taking so long to load.
If only there was some sort of option that each member could use to determine if they want sig. pics. to load or to just be links. That would solve everyones problems.

Wow, I'm actually not missing the sig pics. It's actually sort of... pleasing not having them littering everywhere.

Please limit length of signature code. I really cant stand those folks who take up a whole page just for their signature. I DO NOT NEED TO KNOW YOU INSTALLED LED'S IN YOUR DOME LIGHT!!!1! OK THX

Yeah, this actually came up a while back in another thread where folks were discussing sigs in general. A few of things considered were:

1) Limiting sig pic dimensions
2) Limiting sig pic file size
3) Limiting number of lines in sig

Even a person with a purely text sig can still make it HUGE. I'm not against sigs and such, and I actually sort of like them. I just don't like it when they have a large vertical component to them.

But I guess I digress a bit with all this sig talk.

The site upgrade looks awesome! So far the upgrade seems very cool, not just in performance but in nifty new features to play with, too.
