lol pranks..
But more seriously, that really sucks. For one, do you own your spare keys (with the spare alarm fob) and you're sure that no one else has it? And for two, are you sure that your panic button isn't stuck or something for some reason? The only thing I can think of is maybe your doors aren't closed all the way (and even then the alarm shouldn't blare anyway); the alarm is designed to activate if the doors are opened when the car is armed.
But that's all I got, sorry =/.

Are you talking about an aftermarket alarm? The Z does not come with an alarm stock. I assume you mean "arm the car" = locking the doors, and "the alarm goes off" = horn honking like the panic button is pressed.
Correct me if wrong to clear up any confusion before we take this any further...

As said above, I would double check your panic buttons.

Your vehicle has two types of security systems,
as follows:
Vehicle Security System
Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System (NVIS)
The security condition will be shown by the
security indicator light.
VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM
The vehicle security system provides visual and
audio alarm signals if parts of the vehicle are
disturbed.
This light blinks whenever the ignition switch is in
the LOCK, OFF or ACC position. This is normal.
How to arm the vehicle security
system
1. Close all windows.
The system can be activated even if the
windows are open.
2. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
3. Close and lock all doors and rear hatch/trunk
lid.
Lock all doors by pressing the LOCK button
on the keyfob. When using the keyfob, the
hazard indicators flash twice to indicate all
doors are locked.
4. Confirm that the security indicator light
comes on. The security indicator light glows
for about 30 seconds and then blinks. The
system is now activated. If, during this 30
second time period, the door is unlocked by
the key or the keyfob, or the ignition key is
turned to ACC or ON, the system will not
activate.
Even when the driver and/or passengers
are in the vehicle, the system will activate
with all doors and rear hatch/trunk lid
locked and ignition key off. Turn the ignition
key to ACC to turn the system off.
Vehicle security system activation
The security system will give the following alarm:
The headlights blink and the horn sounds
intermittently.
the alarm automatically turns off after approximately
50 seconds. However, the alarm
reactivates if the vehicle is tampered with
again. the alarm can be shut off by unlocking
a door with the key, or by pressing the
UNLOCK button on the keyfob.
the alarm is activated by:
Opening the door without using the key or
keyfob.
Opening the rear hatch or the trunk lid without
using the release switch or keyfob.
How to stop an activated alarm
the alarm will stop only by unlocking a door with
the key, or by pressing the UNLOCK button on
keyfob. the alarm will not stop if the ignition
switch is turned to ACC or ON.
If the system does not operate as described
above, have it checked by your
NISSAN dealer.
NISSAN VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (NVIS)
The Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System (NVIS)
will not allow the engine to start without the use
of the registered NVIS key.
If the engine fails to start using the registered
NVIS key, it may be due to interference caused
by another NVIS key, an automated toll road
device or automated payment device on the key
ring. Restart the engine using the following
procedures:
1. Leave the ignition switch in the ON position
for approximately 5 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF or LOCK
position and wait approximately 10 seconds.
3. Repeat step 1 and 2 again.
4. Restart the engine while holding the device
(which may have caused the interference)
separate from the registered NVIS key.
If this procedure allows the engine to start,
NISSAN recommends placing the registered
NVIS key on a separate key ring to avoid
interference from other devices.

Hey all,
I writing this in order to bring the thread up to the top. After 13 years and only 56,345 miles (anyone in the market??) my OEM theft "deterrent" system is going off intermittently after I lock the door appropriately, i.e., either inside door switch or w/ FOB. It can be 5 hours, 10 hours, 3 days, etc. I've not altered the electrical system and the door indicator on the dash does not illuminate when it does actuate.
If there are any ideas, they would be appreciated.
Being an "intermittent" problem, the dealer won't/can't fix. Also, I wanted to trade it in on something like a corvette Z06 or stingray, Lexus RC F or something similar, but if it goes off during the deal...I'm screwed, (I'm probably screwed anyway as I bet I have an obligation to tell the buyer of the problem).
In any event, any ideas welcome. Glad to see the forum is still up! Be well.
