Pioneer AVH-P3200BT w/ OEM Navigation?
I am looking at options on how to get bluetooth and IPod capabilities to my 2008 350z roader. I was looking at boxes that connect to the stock HU but the price was getting close to what it would cost to get an aftermarket HU. I have decided that the best one for my application is the Pioneer AVH-P3200BT.
Here is what I am looking to purchase:
- Pioneer AVH-3200BT
- Metra Electronics 70-7550 Wiring harness
- Metra Installation Kit 99-7602 from Best Buy
- Pac Pioneer/Sony Steering Wheel Interface Module
- Pioneer audio/video Ipod/IPhone interface cable.
After lots of research on this site, I hope that my metra kits, modules and interface cables are correct.
Edit:
After more searching found answers to the navigation question.
Also, I am scared that someone is going to cut my top and steal my HU. Anyone design a cover to go over the HU so no one knows what you have? The P3200BT's face is not removable.
Also how you route the bluetooth microphone and where did you put it?
Looking forward to picking up all the necessary pieces and started this install in a week or so.
If anyone has any tricks of the trade that I should learn or links to any good BIY write-ups that would be very helpful!

If you look on ebay, they sell a fake faceplate with a suction cup that sticks to your double din, and it makes it look like a stock stereo... As for the microphone, I would route that behind the A-pillar, or if your willing to put in some more elbow grease, on the driverside visor...

@mOkieZ: I should be receiving my P3200BT this Friday, however, I wont be able to do any install until I get my car back in 2-3 weeks. Will atleast get the harness soldered up and do what I can outside of the car. Also got the DVD bypass for passengers and going to build the circuitry to mute the HU when the OEM navigation is giving directions. Not sure what speaker to get to drive the audio from the OEM navigation.
@sdZ33: Thanks for the suggestions! I will probably just mount it on the A-Pillar. Hopefully it doesnt require me removing the dashboard or anything. Havent looked at too many schematics yet of where the openings are to run wiring that way. Dont want to get to down and dirty with my car due to having limited space to work with.

the avh 3200bt comes with a microphone. It has a really long cord so i zip tied the excess. You could feed it through the left hand side of the rear stereo compartment. Then grab it and bring it underneath the plastic cluster that conceals the steering wheel.
I brought it up and over and stuck it on the plastic piece thats in between the Dash and the steering wheel. That way if I adjust my steering wheel my mic also adjusts
