AVH-p3100 and roem-nis2 couple questions

AVH-p3100 and roem-nis2 couple questions
Just installed the HU and the roem-nis2 today. I get very slight white noise only noticeable when the music is not playing (like in between songs or when DVD is loading). So I have a couple questions.
1. what number does the volume go up to?
2. people that installed the HU and the roem unit, did you adjust the levels on the pac unit or did you leave it alone.
3. If you adjusted the pac unit did you turn it up or down.
4. does your HU have any white noise?
18 on the volume is fairly loud and and around 20 is when the speakers start to distort.
I dont want to take it all apart to adjust if I dont need to.
