Use Bose Sub/Amp with Replacement HU + Speakers?
Hi, I want advice on a temporary solution. I bought a deck and front speakers which I really want to set up since my bose deck skips non stop. I haven't bought a sub or amp yet but will do so in a few months. (Short on cash right now)
The main question is this. How can I use the bose amp/sub without buying a PAC interface? There are similar threads on using the stock speakers with a replacement deck but they don't mention how the outputs actually go to the amps from the stock bose deck. I assume it is RCA but at a messed up voltage and resistance in typical Bose fashion.
I just want to add a suitable resistor to the sub output RCAs from my replacement HU in order to use the bose sub for the time being. Can someone help me out with info on this?

Do not know what head unit you are using.
Do not know what outputs are available from the head unit.
Yes you can hardwire everything. You just have to be careful that you send a line level signal to amplifier, and a power level signal directly to speakers. You will also need a auto ON-OFF signal to the amplifier.

jvc kw-xr810 is the head unit.
yes, the turning on and off signal i wasn't 100% sure about
I also don't know the voltage and ohms required for the bose amp incoming signal.
Once I know those values I should be able to figure out the rest. I assume the turning on and off signal I can do off the deck as per a typical amp. But if Bose chose some weird signal for that too it will be more complicated!

purchase the metra wire harness (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1207075...e-Harness.html) it has the rca's built in (bose system). the rca's should have at least 3v pre-amp. you can use the bose amp to run new speakers but it will be underpowered and you have NO gain to adjust. i have a pioneer p8000bt wich has 4v pre amp and it works great with the factory speakers.

Using the adapter you speak of doesn't work in my situation since I will be using only the stock sub/amp. The door speakers and HU will be replaced.
My question is about the subwoofer output from the BOSE headunit. Are they simple RCAs or some other unique goofy BOSE wiring?
If they are just RCAs then it is a simple fix unless the RCA signal the bose amp expects is at a different Ohm/voltage value.
If anyone can let me know it would be appreciated.

I am in the same situation and its frustrating because I dont want to rewire my entire z. I replace my front a rear speakers with jl audio speakers and installed the pioneer avic z2. I turn the volume up all the way and I can still barely hear anything. I am in desperate need of a fix also so I will be checking to see what somebody comes up with. If somebody had replaced the bose amp can you post a picture of the setup you used.

Is there a reason you do not want to use the PAC interface. I recently intalled one in an 05 Nissan Pathfinder with Bose (Wife's SUV). The HU was pioneer Z130BT.
I used PAC ROEM-NIS2 and to tell the truth, the improvement is tremendous.I know Pathfinder is not a Z but the Bose systems in them are similar except the one in the Pathfinder originally sounded better. All I am saying is, the PAC interface is not expensive but very effective
