Does anyone know if you can stream apps like netflix and youtube to the Kenwood DDX470 using an android device? I know you can do it with and iPhone.

You can't. You can't even do it by USB. Something about the file method of android is not compatible with the DDX470. The only thing you can do with your Android phone is receive calls, and play the music you have stored on it over Bluetooth. No other apps or functions work.

Im sure you *can* get it to work if you got an RCA to HDMI to MHL then connect a Samsung or other MHL phone.
Personally, not worth the trouble. I want to watch Netflix comfortably at home, not while driving a 1.5 ton vehicle at 70mph.

[QUOTE=DarkCreep;10427537]Spotify, I heart Radio, Milk Music, etc do work in bluetooth method and show artist name and song similar to pandora./QUOTE]
I will have to try those, I couldn't even get Pandora to work.

Go into the settings of the bluetooth, theres a setting that "turns on" the pandora, phone call, and bluetooth feature to connect to your phone. So technically, everything else could work but if Pandora is checked off it wont work. Stupid setting if you ask me but its there. Make sure Pandora is on and youll be fine.
Another one is the speaker set up. All 4 speakers work but if you have it off during bluetooth, only the fronts work. It annoyed me for the first few weeks I owned the unit till I found the setting.

I'm going to be running 4 Alpine 6.5 4ohm coax speakers with this unit, and a JL JX1000/1D amp driving 2 10W3v3-4's
Question:
Those of you that are using this unit with a 4 channel amp . . . . are you glad you went this route ? or would you suggest that the Kenwood head unit (alone) output more than enough ?

So, in your case, I think you may be OK. Try it and see. I've never been interested in bass to rattle the whole car, and I think my system is very well-balanced. You my have a different idea of what sounds good.

dcains do you have coax or comp. speakers?
I have Polk Audio DB651s powered by radio in the front with stock speakers in the rear. The SQ is great and highs sound good but I really want to get some component speakers and move the DB651s to the rear. I cant stand the way the rears sound, luckily the fronts drown them out.
Also, if I run wires straight from the radio to the speakers (bypassing the amp), will they be louder? I put a Kenwood radio into my girls '05 Altima with stock speakers and base notes hit way harder than my car and I have the Bose poor excuse for a subwoofer. Her mirrors even rattle and everything!

I can't recall the model numbers, but I have Boston component speakers front and rear. Here's are a few pics of the rear tweeter install, while the fronts are installed in the original location:
Not sure I understand your question about the wiring. If the speakers are wired to an OEM Bose amp, they will IMO sound better wired directly to the Kenwood HU's internal amp. But, I can't say how they will balance with the Bose sub, if that's what you have.
