With the car running you shouldn't be getting that much voltage drop. You also shouldn't have to charge the battery every week unless you drive 3 miles a day and listen to the radio with the car off in between.

Also, a lower amperage longer charge is better for your battery than a 10 minute high amp charge.

Lemme add that it only hits the 12.3v range occasionally when at idle and the A/C is on high, hids on, amp on and pushing the sub hard

yea I drive more than that one way, but I do use it when the car is off. And ➕1 to trickle charging thats a no brainer. But for the sake of argument I was just saying it can be a simple and quick stop gap

well haven't done the big 3 upgrade to my car yet which i know i need to get done soon. i look under my hood today to see if i can find my alternator which i did. from the looks of it from where i was facing it don't look to hard to do. would i need to remove my alternator to do the power wire or should i be able just jack my car up and replace it with it bolted up ?
