custom power outlet in the 2003?

Yes, I'm tired of the single power outlet in the rear center console. I want to know if anyone's actually got a working outlet they may have placed at the front of the car, i.e. dash or front console.

I want to have the ability to plug in my phone or other device w/o having a long *** cord going all the way to the rear outlet.

Just get a 04+ passenger side panel, it will have a lighter in it then just wire it up to the fuse box.

Adding a power plug should be simple. Drill a round hole where you want the power, and install a hot-plug. Off-roaders put these in all sorts of places in their vehicles. --Spike

I just run a dual USB/CIG from the back, leaves the front open for tablet.

In my other car I have a 3A cellphone charger hooked right up the the power seat fuse(and grounded to a bolt behind the dash) and it comes out of the left side of the dash up the pillar. Took me all of $4 and about 10 minutes to install.

Before that I had a 2.1a and 1a charger zip tied to the bottom of the dash near the drivers feet. Wired the same way

i did swap the 04.5 lower dash panel in. Its a direct fit. just wire it up to the other outlet and you're good to go.
