Default Best double din unit to sit flush...

I apologize ahead of time if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find anything on the audio forum when I searched. Maybe I just didn't look up the right search term...

Anyways, I'm looking to see what double din unit would fit best in an '05 touring roadster. What I really want is something that will fit as close as possible as the factory unit so it looks flush like it belongs in the car. It doesn't have to have a bunch of extra features, but maybe navigation would be nice.

Looks like the fitment on that is pretty good! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

Anyways, I'm looking to see what double din unit would fit best in an 06 touring roadster. What I really want is something that will fit as close as possible as the factory unit so it looks flush like it belongs in the car. It doesn't have to have a bunch of extra features, but maybe navigation would be nice.
The later waterfalls have a bit more curvature than the earlier cars, so there are no aftermarket units which will fit perfectly flush on all four edges. You can get the top and bottom adjusted flush, but then the sides will be off a bit, or vice-versa. You can get it pretty close, though.

I just realized I typed that I had an '06 when I really have an '05... does that year have the same curvature that you're talking about?

The major interior changes were in the '06 cars, along with the wheels, front bumper, head and tail lights, and maybe a few other small details. Be careful which install kit you use, as there are some differences. I couldn't say which is best for your '05, though.

If you dont want anything flashy but something very nice and a bang for the buck. Get the Kenwood DDX271.

Has bluetooth, pandora, auxiliary, usb, cd player, multi colored mood lights and my favorite part, no flashy graphics when its on. Id like to say mine looks "stock", people have asked me if it came with the car.

Are there different models of the DDX271? I've been reading some reviews and a lot of people complain because it doesn't have Bluetooth, but you're saying it does. Do you by chance have a picture of how it looks sitting in the car?

none are going to be completely flush, you are putting something that is flat into something that is slightly curved.

Maybe he meant the DDX470 or 471. I have the 470 and it does all that. I even changed the wallpaper to a Nissan emblem for a more OEM look:

I had the same one and really liked it. I took it out of my 06 Z when I sold it, had it in my STI, took it out when I sold it, then gave to a friend since I didn't feel the need to put in my Veloster. Now I am back in a Z and am looking at a new Kenwood head unit. I really like their stuff.
