Question Sound System Problems

I installed 2 JL WXv2 subwoofers about 2 years ago with an alpine 500 amp. Once installed they sounded just ok. I thought that they would hit harder but they did the job. After time has gone by seems like they are not working as well as they began even if it was a weak start for them. barely works with the radio so i use Bluetooth most of the time and they only hit decent with certain songs which changes daily. I checked all the settings in the deck but changes are very minimal. Any recommendations of what to try or anyone have comments about the setup?

you dont have a proper enclosure, in hatchbacks it is best to have them facing the rear of the car ( in my experiences). you left out too many details, what head unit, how is it hooked up to the amp (line out or rca), what gauge is the power wire, how are things ran....

aftermarket alpine head unit not to sure the model and using rca with i believe a 6 gauge ground wire. Not to sure since it was about 2 years ago but everything worked well at a point. Might try a new enclosed box in the trunk since the 2 I have now wouldnt fit in the trunk to begin with

try that... at the radio level, set everything to zero (bass and treble etc), on the amp turn the gains down. now on the radio turn it up about 3/4 of the way, and then go adjust the amp gains to the listening level you like

Are the subs in the correct size box? This might explain why they never sounded good. Also agree with the above, turn the subs around and fire them towards the rear of the vehicle.

to me they look like 12s, but i could be wrong, but if that is the case...def too small of enclosure. those also kinda like ported truck boxes.

try removing 1 box

take the other box and put it in the farthest corner of the hatch back

this cost nothing $ , and takes 5 minutes

they work in 1.3 sealed

Might be that your amp isn't putting out enough power for 2 12s... Might want to ditch one of them and just run 1 and face it out the back... I have a single 8 inch sub and its more then adequate.
