Unhappy Rear speakers?

Hey guys I have an 04 350z base model no Bose no nothing, and I was wondering if the speaker pods behind the head rests have speakers in them because I hear no sound coming out of them. I did a new radio install and checked all my connections so that rules that out of the equation so I was wondering if they're dead, and if so if that's common. And also wondering if there even are speakers in there being they are base model with literally nothing.

Speakers should be there regardless of trim level, but that doesn't mean someone didn't pull them out, or that they're blown.

The rear speakers ruin your soundstage anyways. I pulled mine out years ago and have been happy ever since.

Id say connections but you say you traced it. Idk maybe a blown fuse? You check that yet? Did you check also test the radio connection/output?

Who said the fuse was speaker specific. If he has a blown fuse to block current to the sound system or accessory that could be a problem... Not uncommon after install of aftermarket radios or electronics. Also not all fuses are in the fuse box. Many accessories have direct wire fuses built in dependent on application.

I've never seen a fuse on a speaker wire in my 11 years of doing audio.

Either the speakers are absent, the wiring is disconnected/cut, or the output from the headunit is dead. I lost one of the rear channels on my OEM headunit, so it happens.

It's been so long I don't remember what it was, but I do remember something in my stock BLOSE head unit wasn't working right and if I hit the side of the console fairly hard it would make it work like it was supposed to.

The OP doesn't have the Blose system, so there are no external components to cause trouble.
