RCA wire, power wire for lcd and FM modulator, and remote unit for tv tuner run to front of car under the door trim piece.
I lifted up a portion of the trim piece for the picture....the trim piece is held by plastic clips.

So are you using the TV out off of the motherboard or an external scan converter for input into the LCD? I'm assuming that isn't a VGA monitor.
Also, are you using the power inverter to the cigarette lighter? Is it directly wired to the cigarette lighter or just pluged into it?
Looking at this myself, but leaning more towards a DC-DC power converter and VGA screen. Just curious how this is working for you so far.

RCA out of motherboard. It's a non-VGA Farenheit 7001.
All 5 of my devices including the inverter are plugged to cigarette lighter...The extension you see turn the devices on/off. I figure I'm pulling a little over 9 amps with everything on....usually just i have just 4 on at a time so the max is about 8 ish. No problems.
DC-DC power is ideal and so is VGA. The inverter works for me and it was a lot cheaper. ....still waiting for a VGA LCD that fits well enough to even consider. Non-VGA requires big text at least font size of 16....with the right programs it will work well.
I love the MP3s and videos so far...I'm getting a antenna for my GPS next week and will be testing that out soon.

The blue thing is a receiver for the trackball and the glove box is closed....I just showed it open to show that the pc could be access without diturbing the passenger. I have a wireless RF trackball that I place on the center console (not pictured). The device works on radio frequency and you do not need a direct line of sight. Works good but big...so I will be changing over to a RF presentation remote of some sort or a hidden touchpad. Keyboard is a virtual keyboard (my-t-touch).

The smudges and fingerprints would drive me crazy.
Plus, unless your finger is the size of a pencil tip you would have a hard time with most of the program available. You would have to write your own programs IMO to make it really viable.

Can you give any details on the PC your running? Motherboard, processor, memory, graphics card, sound etc?
I'm interested in doing something like this. How much did this set-up run you?

abz123 I was looking at your setup not to bad!! I am thinking of doing a similar system. There are some real cool Power supplys coming out soon specifically for our application. Your casetronics case has a dc to dc power supply on it. Why are you using an inverter? you can hook it up directly to your cars electrical system!!

In terms of having a good program to run the basic things (MP3, DVD, etc.) on an Auto PC, I found this Digital Dash program when I was researching this stuff awhile back. You can download a demo of it to see if you like. It's pretty basic, but seems to offer what you need. The cost is $45. I will probably go with this, once I commit to building my PC.
