the 800 price tag is fine utnil a little things breaks, and then pioneer charges you 2-300 bucks to fix it, and poof goes the savings these complex headunits are more likely to get bugs and issues than a normal striaght forward HU, which is why i recommend peoeple get these throguh authorized sources, where as a normal cd/mp3 headunit, i really could care less
but all in all, iam kinda pissed at the d3, what a major downgrade from te d2, sure its cheaper, but the need to remove discs is annoying, not to mention the cheap looking exterior...but oh well
speaking of which , i may have an almost new, fully warrantied, d2 for sale hehe, for around $900-$1000ish, wtih kit and harness...

As for the D3 I do agree that it is a step down, but at its price point it's not too bad to eat. The strong features that are lurely most people in is the cheap navi, and ipod intergration. In due time another version will release but for now I'll live with it.

If you wanna get one for a good price I would buy it from crutchfield. I know they are on back order but you get a free rear view camera and dash kit. After all the discounts you can apply you can get whole thing for I believe around 1000.00.

ebay can state whatever they want, they are not authorized dealers. a 10w7 for 400 dollars brand new? that would be close to dealer costs, and ebay is not a dealer. good deals though for sure, can argue that.

Having issues......
I have this harness....
I followed the directions from AVIC411.com for the bypass. I only wired the harness did not put the GPS antenna, speed sensor or the other sensor. Only the wires shown in the above picture. I hook everything up it powers on I can push the buttons and everything I get radio stations from the looks of it but I do not get any sounds what so ever.....Any ideas? Do I have to have the speed sensor installed before I hear sound that doesn't make sense. All connections are soldered and heat shrinked. I have an 2003 with Bose System. Please tell me if I am missing something. Where did everyone else ground their wires???

I don't have my GPS antenna, VSS or anything else connected either, but my radio and CD player work fine, can hear from every speaker, used fade/balance to verify. I connected with butt connectors instead of solder, and it's working fine. I grounded at one of the mounting screws that you have to take off, when removing the trim around the head unit. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Good luck.
