I'm not 100% on the bypass but imo, we replace everything so no need for a bypass. IE: D3 ~> 500/5 ~> F/R/S. Not D3 ~> Bose ~> 500/5 ~> F/R/S.

the bypass is just so you can watch dvds and enter nav info while driving.
