Default Wicked C.A.S. corner enclosure: A review.

I recently ordered a a corner enclosure sub box from Wicked C.A.S. and wanted to share the experience and my opinion of the product. Overall I'm very pleased with it and enjoy the extra bass it produces.

I ordered the enclosure with a JL Audio 3v3 10" sub and wrapped in vinyl. Here's what I got out of the box:

The quality was very good and it felt more solid than what I was expecting. I have seen fiberglass fabrication in the past and it was rather flimsy. This was very solid and rigid.

I used a local shop to do the install and gave them the instillation instructions for this box found on the Wicked C.A.S. site. They said mounting the box that way was very easy and it mounts securely. Based on the way the box is shaped and the area it's designed to be mounted, I didn't really see any alternative. Here is the end result:

Overall, I'm really pleased with the outcome and the product I received. It produces excellent bass response and it's unique design allows you to have an EOM quality appearence while keeping your trunk. The JL Audio sub produces more than enough bass for me and definately hits. My HU allows me to manually control my sub and I have had to make some adjustments as I felt it was too loud at times. If your an EXTREME bass head or you want something a little more flashy, than this may not be the box for you. If you want to excentuate your system and keep a low profile look, than this is the box for you. The ordering from Wicked C.A.S. was pretty simple and straightforward. They did a good job with giving you ordering options, such as the sub and speaker grill, and they stood by their assembly and shipping estimates. I was told 3 - 4 days for construction of the box and then I selected 3 day shipping with UPS. I got the package right on time in 7 days, and that was with a sunday adding on the extra day. The only negative thing I would have to say is the price of the sub box. The extra for the sub was a very fair price and the same price you would pay if you went to Crutchfield or bought it at a local store. The box, however, I thought was a bit steep. I do understand that this is a *custom* sub box and there aren't really that many alaternatives for the 350 Z unless you want multiple subs or to sacrifice your trunk. Again, This is a great product and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I have already had a few complaints from the neighbors and many compliments from friends and nothing makes driving a Z better than having some kicking tunes and a system to hear them properly.

Here is a link to my entire build as of right now.

That looks really nice, and actually pretty big. How well does it stay in place? My current sub moves around quite a bit when I drive the car hard.

The sub is mounted with two bolts into the side of the car, behind the tail light. It's very simple to just pop the light out, drill two holes, and it secures in place very well. It definately pumps out the bass too and I like keeping my trunk. There is a full write up on how to mount the sub on the Wicked CAS website if you're curios.
