About 2 years ago I put a pretty nice sound system in my Envoy. Well the lease was up last September and I took it all out and turned the vehicle in. I then bought a 350z and since then I haven't had a system. The 12's I had in there would not fit in the current enclosure so I knew I'd have to change it up.
I started to sell my Kicker CVR12 Enclosure and the Head unit, I found a place that did custom 350z enclosures and order one. I decided to go with a sealed enclosure this time because my Kicker CVR12 was vented, and I wanted to hear the difference. Plus it gives you higher power handling, lower frequencies etc...
I decided to go with the Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD 7 inch double din dash unit. iPod Video / DVD compatible. Great iPod interface, easy to use and has SO many options its crazy, you can even choose between 150+ difference color options so it can match you interior "theme". Its getting good reviews and overall seems to be rated one of the best h/u's you can buy right now.
In the process I also upgraded from my Polk speakers I had to Kenwood KFC-X172's 240W speakers and threw in some tweeters for SQ.
This time around we wired it differently as well, so I'm putting much more power to my AMPs this time around. The way circuit city wired it last time, I was losing power at my splitter that I never knew about.
I got rid of the CVR12's and got the same kind except in 10's. In 2008 Kicker made the CompVR10's with the same watt output (800 a piece) as the 07 12's I had. So that was pretty sick, granted it was pretty hard to find a 2 OHM it was well worth it.
I love kickers, but when I shop around again I'll check those out, or at least sample them.

Haha, I don't really see that as a chick flick, and it was borrowed from a friend since I don't own many movies and I haven't got the Ipod video interface working yet :P
So did you mount the Kenwood KFC-X172 in the stock door location? You say you also added tweeters for SQ, where did you mount them and how is this all wired? What add-on tweets did you get?

your kickers are more than adequate for a Z .. its a hatch with open cabin.. they will definately sound fine.. no need to go overpaying on some w7 when you don't have to.. Subs are designed to suit the listener.. if the kickers sound great with the type of music you listen to and you like them.. don't change.. however if you are looking to upgrade.. the FI is a good choice at a great price

I would try to hide those wires more, but it looks good
Which wires? By the Amp or in the passenger net? Because I am going to hide the ones in the passenger net more soon, but it really wasn't possible to hide them more on the Amp rack. But I got it lookin clean.

Yeah they are in the stock door location, I added aftermarket tweeters in the same spot as the stock ones on a Z as well. They're kenwood also but I don't know exactly what kind. I didn't do the wiring so I'm not sure on that.

Yeah thats true, when you're in the car the bass seems so massive compared to standing outside or if the trunk is open.
Why so open with the amps?? That's a $1000+ smash and grab right there..
I can see not wanting to go full stealth but at least display them somewhere they can't be seen from outside the vehicle.. you got some balls.
You can't see them from outside the car unless you really try. To see it from the rear window you'd have to be on the roof looking down, and of course you can see it in the side windows if you try.
I have it all insured though, and I live in a good area so hopefully nothing bad happens.
