Can someone do a write on a step by step with pictures on how to do the resistor part. Unfortunately the Nismo airbag harness doesn't work for the 2007 model 350z. I'm a confused and lost about the soldering part. Thanks in advance.

Okay, I just changed my seats in my 07 Grand Touring. Driver side worked fine. No airbag light. The passenger side is another thing. I did not have the "guard piece" mentioned in the first page of this post, nor could I find the brain or the bladder.
Any suggestions?

Any updates? So I gather that pre-2007 cars have a bladder that is removable, however the 07+ cars have some sort of pressure mesh?

Just looked under my NISMO seats. They have the bladder, look identicle to that of the OP's seats he took pics of. I think that if your seats are either heated or electric (or both) you have the alternate version of the pressure sensors (instead of bladder).
Either way, its an easy fix. I see exactly how just tieing up the bladder works, as well as with the 2.2 ohm resister that pretty much all other auto manufacturers's SRS systems use as resistance. Industry standard stuff there.

Look @ your owners manual, warranty information booklet. 60 mo.(5 years) from the date of original date put into service, or 60k mi which ever comes.
If you can't find it call or go to the dealer and explain what your car is doing.
Ask if it's under warranty then have them check it out, tell them not to do anything to your car with out your ok. They may fix it and then say it's out of warranty, but you oked us to fix car with your signature on there form you sign when you droped of the car.
I don't understand why people with 2005-07 z's are doing this, your cars are under warranty. If they Nissan can't fix your airbag problem after 3 times then you push for Lemon law, as it works in your state.
When you start talking about Lemon law they will get your car fixed!
Nissan just put a pass set bottom in my Nismo, service writer said it cost $2100. That would be the mark up price for us.
Free info from an ASE master tech. thats worked @ many dealerships and owned his own shop.

Okay...doesn't work. I replace my seats with spacos racing seats and Airbag light flashes. I tried the procedure, it dosen't work. After 7 seconds, it blinks but never stops blinking no matter what I do. I have an 03 Touring model with seatbags and sidecurtain bags. I tried the version above and the one below.

I have an 08 Z and I just took the sensor out of the passenger seat cusion. Its the same type of sensor morris had in his seat, its like a very thin felt pad versus the old fashion sensor bladders. I reset my airbag light after reconnecting everything and for some strange reason it works perfectly. No more airbag light, but the sensor is just laying there. No matter what position I put the sensor in, the light never goes on, its like the sensor always thinks someone is there. Its almost "too good" that im feeling alittle sketchy about it. Even if I hold the sensor by one of the corners, the light just doesnt go on. Any suggestions on how I can test if the airbag is working properly? Im putting aftermarket seats in very soon. Thanks!

Redline Life,
When you start the car, does the airbag light on the dash and the one by the interior light come on for a few seconds then go off? If so, that is a good sign. Also, you can take the car to the dealership and ask them to check it out. They can hook up to the OBDII and tell you if the system is working properly.
I am not sure if your car thinks someone is always sitting there or is never sitting there. I considered plugging the sensor in and just laying it under the seat, but I was concerned that it would think that no one was ever sitting there, and therefore would not have airbag protection for a passenger. So, that is why I inserted the sensor into my race seat. That was a little tricky to get it positioned just so, but it worked like a charm once I got it in the right place.

yes it does, they both come on for about 5-7 seconds and completely shut off after at the same time, but its almost too good to be true because i have never got the lights to turn on when messing around with the sensor, it seem s thats the only way i could get the ligh to come on is just by unplugging the sesor. I may have to consider inserting it into my seat as well. Thanks for the reply!

I'm having this same issue after getting the 2.2ohm 1/4watt 5% tolerance reistors (271-1325) from radio shack plugged into both sides my light just stays blinking. I didn't splice the connection but just put the resistor in the smaller holds of the connector. Is the bladder needed in order to work?
