seats:
My frost leather got all cracky and aged........i was never really happy with them other then the day i purchased......i think the frost grey leather is to thin (mm wise) and age shows to well, i got a good deal on a local sale on cloth seats off of a guy on the forum and i love the black factory cloth big time in comparison to the frost leather....

just throwing another option out there...
i bought a suction cup / window mount camera mount which worked well for outside of car autoX shots (with safety cord!!) BUT at sebring they insisted all mounts be hard connected to car...
just got 3 3/8" (1/2" long) sheet metal screws and secured it to the back crosspiece - run the safety cord up from the childseat tether in back
it folds pretty small when not in use, i barely notice it ( used to take it out but now just leave it) there are 3 holes in the cross piece but if the next owner is concerned about them then he doesn't know what i've done to the drivetrain at Sebring....
my selfportrait! - in the video cam screen, can see the framing of the pic, i just leave it on widescreen / full wide zoom and i get the windsheild view plus some shifting / steering action
same problem with windnoise though, i do the cut up sponge rubber banded over the microphone holes to reduce it
for the op design [was my prior mount location (made of a piece of scrap hardwood, not fancy aluminum)] - i scavenged bits off a cheap full sized tripod that had a ball mount so that you could aim the camera any direction without shims and not worry about the seatback changing position (giving you a nice video of the dashboard!) - just a thought, nice work!

Update: Aluminum camera mount
UPDATE:
Hi,
while at a local TARGET i found this TARGA Universal Table Top Tripod camera mount. COST $6.99
It's pretty much an identical copy of the plastic "Dollar General" one used before but this one is much better of course. its made from machined aluminum and has some nice weight to it. the upper cylinder moves 360 degrees where the ball/arm does tilt........
You disassemble the mount the exact same way. There is a philips head screw at the base...
the legs come falling out and then these two disc are left.
In-between the disc is a small rubber o-ring. Which maybe good to keep for reinstalling the longer screw needed for the DIY. I don't know the thread pitch yet, but ill update that once i do.
UPDATE: The bolt i used was an M4x0.7 pitch 30mm long - bought at home depot in their hardware section, pull out drawers.

Just an update:
Ive noticed that the dollor tree camera mounts are disappearing from the shelves....So i have a bunch of them if anyone wants one, pm me and just pay for shipping. shouldnt be much cause they are light.
But the New Aluminum one i found at target on POST #9 and POST #70 for $6.99 is super sweet!
