I think he is thinking of the remote programming. You can easily do that yourself. The transponder is a different story.
BTW I got my cut at Home Depot for $0. He just had to find the right key plate. His first try was it. Key plate A.
The reader said my key was a Philips chip that was encrypted. Just interesting.
Also I tired to extend the range but it seemed to be worse. I did what this video did (without soldering for testing). I hope I can find something to make it further.

Just a FYI for some people. I use to have a switchblade key for my Tiburon V6 that I bought from shark racing, which ran me roughly 60.00. A year later the switchblade mechanism quit working. Pushing the button didn't even make it flinch. May not happen to everyone but when it does it sucks having to pick the key part out with your fingers or a pen.
EDIT:
Also, you better trust your local Home Depot guys. Bought a blank Tib key a few months ago and took it to my local Home Depot (Buford, GA) and they f'd it up and all they could say was sorry and that they'll carve me a key of their brand ($.50 blank with no chip). Factory blanks typically aren't cheap. Only places i've had good experiences with was Ace Hardware and whatever dealership your car belongs to.

As far as the key not coming out, you probably can take it out and regresse it and check the spring.
I thought about that when they were cutting my key at home depot, what happens if they mess it up.... good thing they didn't. I wouldn't of been too happy.
Btw my last car was a tiburon v6. It was a fun car.

and +1 to ACE HARDWARE. Everyone should go there to get it cut instead of Home Depot. Their cutting method is different and require no key plate or whatever default slot...

I had the three button first time around and switched to four. All you cut for the three button is the rubber keys. The circuit board fits.

I just finished my conversion tonight. Ordered from ipearlg on g35driver, $32 shipped.
I'm very pleased with the quality, the actual process was pretty easy. What the pictures might not show is the rubberized coating, feels kinda like those soft silicon covers for ipods and cellphones.
