Nice to see some Aussies.
I'm originally from Wollongong. Moved to Phoenix Arizona 6 months ago.
Man the price for the Z is steep back home! I am glad I am living here in the US Looking to get a Z in 6 to 12 months.

synergytheory, I thought the US price was near to our local price once converted. Wat's the US$ sticker for a touring and track over there?
Here the touring (our base model) is around AUD$65k on road and the track is AUD$72k on road IIRC
Either way I think it's going to be a popular car here. Now that I've had a chance to sit in one and know that I'm interested, all I'm waiting for is a test drive before I place an order.

More of a gap than I thought. It's in line with what I'd usually expect but I thought it was more even in this case. Obviously not.
Interesting to see such a small gap between the Toring and Track over there and the large difference between them here.
Still, I can see a Daytona Blue Track in my near future

Oh the Touring is the Base in oz? No Base, Enthusiast or Performance? That kinda sucks.
I think if I had 70k AUD to spend back home, I'd still try to find a good R34. Never seen a GTR on the road over here, never seen any in trade papers either. I hear they are VERY expensive over here.
It'll be interesting to see if the dealers charge MSRP in Australia. Over here a lot of dealers are marking up like 5k or sometimes 7 and 8k.
But as far as the dollar conversion goes, when it comes down to it, a dollar is a dollar...I have given up thinking 10 bucks US is actually costing me 20 bucks Australian...drives you crazy!
I am going to get a Performance model over here, bout 31k USD which is 55k AUD.

Yeah just the Touring and Track and both are fully "optioned" ie the 7 speaker Bose system, leather heated seats and full compliment of air bags.
Our colour choices are limited to White Diamond, Platinum, Black Obsidian, Daytone Blue, Burning Red and Le Mans Sunset.
Those prices, $65k and $72k, were quoted to me by a dealer as the "on road price". The Track is $65k before the dealer charges are added. I've also been told that the first shipment is essentially sold so if you haven't ordered one don't expect to have one before april or even june. We'll see if that just dealer hype or not. I'm always amazed that people will put down a non refundable $2500 depsoit on a car they haven't even sat in let alone driven. I suspect there'll be a couple on the used car market after a month.
Given the amount of electronic driver aids in the 350Z I'm a bit concerned about how it will feel to drive so I'm waiting.

Yeah I was told that bull too, you better hurry up and put your non-refundable deposit down or you`ll wait forever to get one. Delaer rang me back a couple of weeks later and said we can get you a car in March with a $500 refundable holding deposit. Go figure.

What's wrong with an old Gregorys?
Seriously I know a few people with NAV stuff in their cars and none of them use it. Spend the $20 on the street directory and the other few hundred $ on other mods.

Got to agree with the others, Satnav is cool to have but unnecessary. Unless you are in sales and move around to different places often, Satnav wouldn't be used too often. It's like my DVD player in my car. It's cool when I installed it (2 months ago) but I don't use it. Anyone wants to buy a single din Pioneer 7 inch motorised wide screen with DVD???

I wanted the Rays wheels, my dealer said no options on wheels.
Looks like we have no options at all, just a choice of Touring /Track and color
Feb can't come sooner.

Just dropping in to say "Howdy" from Melbourne.
I'm in the "Feb" boat so to speak (or is that my Z is in the feb boat?)... $500 refundable deposit based on if I like the car/test drive (Haven't even see one in person yet).
Only one more month to go (hopefulllyyyyyy)... anyone heard back from their dealership about a more precise date?
There are a couple of you from melbourne, if u see a lemans sunset with plates "ANYHOO" (i dont think its tacky... ok maybe it is....) thats moi.
Anyway yeah a couple of things are sucky... the rims (I got the track as well)... the detuned engine (its 206kw... the US/Japan version is 214... or is the 206 not really 206.....???????)... I wanted a brickyard or silverstone as my first preferences...
Some good things tho... I read an article saying Nissan is planning on 600-800 in the first year for aus (thats a lot less z's per head than in the us...)
Anyhoo... one more month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
