AUSTRALIA - more medals than USA !
USA population 290 million.
AUSTRALIA population 20 million.
That's 14.5 times our pop, so multiply our medals by 14.5
WE GOT 232 medals to their measly 28!
Using to-date, gold only!
OWZAT ?

The team we've sent are just the most amazing athletes ever sent!
I mean making it to a final with Cuba in Baseball....huh? Never knew we had a baseball team!
And at least we have coverage on free to air...not like Sydney! We got scraps that time.

So true!
I can see why the USA are finding it hard to throw in a great team... I mean even the basketball team kind of sux.
I heard a quote on ch7, not sure if it's true but they reckon that the Dream-team never lost a game at the Olympics... Ie 2004 isn't much of a dream team !

The Aussie boys and girls are doing well in Athens - greta to see.
But if you're intent on interpolating data that way, nations like Italy and other smaller countries would be ahead of Australia.
Well done to the USA for their gold medal count. They'll probably head the table this year, but in 2008, a new sporting superpower will emerge victorious - China by a long way.

I'm sure all nations have participants in these games taking banned substances, but I do not no of any Chinese that have been caught yet.
Perhaps they get a gold medal for not being caught with drugs!
Innocent until proven guilty.

They just have a unisex team!
Not sure what that indicates though?

You'll notice though, China is the only country to have a combined team, that is no seperate mens and womens teams.
