Default HID Lights

It's probly more of a short question than a whole thread but.... was i supposed to get HID lights on the Z Track? With the bluey look?

The ones i got now are really bright, but they aren't clear like other cars with Xenons.

Just wondering if its something i missed out on, when i got such a bargin on a Track Z

Sorry mate we don't get HID in Aus, they were to lazy to equip the car with headlight washer to comply with ADR, we also miss out on Nav, tyre pressure sensors which are fitted to the US and UK models.

Welcome to the Zed clan.

Not to mention illegal (that whole ADR thing).

if they are illegal, why do so many stock cars come out with them?

Technically if you fit HID the car must be fitted with a lens washer arrangement to keep the lens clean thus preventing light flare from blinding the on coming traffic, go figure.

I believe they must also be self levelling. All things manufacturers take into account when fitting them but features that are not available with the aftermarket "kits".

You can order the OEM HID kits for the 350Z.

I've been tempted to, but at around USD$620 per assembly and no guarantee that they'll fit an aus-spec model, I think I'll save my money.

I considered that as well but it doesn't resolve the legality issues.

It was on the list. I figured once I had the thing capable of warp speed it'd be nice to be able to see where I was going. Not so sure it would've been good for the passenger

It was on my list, but there were alot of other things before it.

You've probabally got the new car doing light speed by now.

Contacted the European arm of Daihatsu for HIDs yet?
