well im trading in my 05 evo8 which was set up for SM with 285s all around, 18x9.5 and enough power to make the car run high 11s @ 122-124 but i want to get a z for the summer and run either the stock class or the stu as I would like to get a z and put a pop charger, cat delets and a bottle (for fun at the drag strip) but i was wonder which tires people tend to run on the z (for both the stock class and the stu)...i currently have been running the kuhmo v710s in 285/30/18...

Stock class - the same size tires that you were running (285/30/18).
The PopCharger would take you out of stock.
The Z is not permitted to "play" in the Street Touring classes -- BS, BSP, SM2 are it (well, there's possibly prepared and modified as well, but I'm not even sure where it would end up there).

You do NOT have to use the same size tires as stock. The ones you have will work fine... Rims, yes, for stock class.
