Hey that video is me -- at Texas World Speedway! I must have been playing dukes of hazard that day...

I do have a lap time from a new track. I took the 350Z to Harris Hill Road in San Marcos, TX today. It was the first time there in my Z, and my 2nd time on the track. I went clockwise, the normal direction. My best time was 1:31.36, with Yokohama Advan AD07 street tires. It's a decent time, but I hope to get it down below 1:30. Several of my friends in Exiges are below 1:30... and one of them has hit 1:26.1, a great time. The track was green today, after all the rain here washed the rubber off.

I'll be back at Texas World Speedway next weekend, I can't wait!

you look nice and smooth for a novice... nice vid

i recall that track will toast your brakes in a heartbeat especially without brembos. i sont think i even finished of a session without cooking the brakes without race pads.

i forgot how boring gingerman was. if your in MI try waterford or grattan...
they are much more exciting.

infact little known underrated grattan ranks way up there on the fun scale with all the off camber, blind corners, humps and elevation changes. always had an awesome time there.

billstein87, is that the DB car that was on RacingJunk for a while? I think it had 2 way JRZ's and an AIM datalogger. I think the owner was moving to stock cars of some sort. It was a great deal if it's the car I'm thinking of and I tried to convince a buddy of mine to buy it.

Glad you enjoyed it dnguyent!

sfarrah,
Should be the same car. The guy (Tommy Martin) raced it for a year and decided to go race in circles. He actually drove it really well. It was a very good deal. To buy the wheels, tires, shocks, and datalogger would have cost me more than I paid for the car.
Here is a short video from the outside:

Track
Mid Ohio (w/chicane)

Date
4/12/09

Best Lap time
1:47.2

Car
04 350z

Tires
Nitto NT05 275/40/18 on OEM 04 wheels

brakes
Carbotech XP8, ATE Superblue, stainless lines

Other Modifications
Hotchkis sways w/Powergrid endlinks, Motordyne plenum spacer, JIC single exhaust, K&N filter

Lap Notes (Rain, heat, etc)
45 degrees F, dry track

Car dynoed 250 to the wheels last summer and weighed in at 3241 with 3/4 tank of gas and no driver. 275's on stock rims may have been a bad idea, they got really squirmy even with 40psi in them. Handling was very neutral with this setup - sway bars are at full soft rear, 2nd up from full soft in front (4-hole design)

5/9/09 Sebring HPDE

catching up to a buddy's Z4 coupe and running some laps for chase video

first lap (of this clip) a 2:44 which is my fastest by 3 seconds off prior best

2004.5 6spd / stock motor /wilwoods / cobb springs & sways / koni's

Temp 97 degrees!

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2Io2wfY4gog&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2Io2wfY4gog&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Ran 74 laps / ~274 track miles! (2 full tanks burned!)

and here is getting Turn 1 ALL WRONG - really screws up the lap time

<embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i334.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid334.photobucket.com/albums/m410/alfajimBBK/100_0816.flv">

[CLOSED COURSE, UNPROFESSIONAL DRIVER DO NOT ATTEMPT AT HOME]

This was back from 2006 - the computer wouldn't read the dvd so i grabbed a vid on my regular camera - some pretty good footage of the wall...

was supposed to be brake from ~110 to 80, downshift, turn and i braked from 110-80, TURNED, downshifted and that broke the rear wheels loose so that they decided to pass the front
i locked brake/clutch down until i saw the vette coming then i released the brake to roll backwards offline, had a nice chat with the marshall at pit out too - very friendly guy!

Default Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, Oklahoma

Track: Hallett - CCW http://www.hallettracing.net/

Lap Notes: NASA race #4. Spent the entire race chasing after a Ferrari 355 Challenge car. Video cuts short, however there should be a few 1:24 laps in the video. Time would have been good enough to beat last years ST2 record but it was bumped up a few times over the weekend by the Ferrari and then by a Z06.

was this the full Pocono North? If so I think you just beat 90% of the NASA Lighting and thunder times including the radicals in a stock 350Z (unless I am remembering their lap times wrong).

The link says AutoX though so I am a bit confused.

Full North Course. Sorry no vid of me.
The club I was running with is the Connecticut Autocross and Rally Team. Hence why you see auto-x in the title.
This was my first time running the car ever at the track. Later this year we'll be back, I'm looking to be 58s if not quicker.
