looking for a helmet

Just seeing what brands you guys like the most, I have to get a new one, mine is out of date. I will be using it for autocross and road courses. Thanks for the help.

I love my Aria open faced helmet - for autoX, I find it much easier to see (perihelia view and turning your head. Only downside is cost.

I have the HJC AR-10. I love it. Great price too. I think I paid $269.

It has nothing to do with taking it to the edge.
It has everything to do with keeping it there.

that's a nice looking helmet. So this helmet passes regulations for most autocross events?

just make sure it's Snell 2005 - that should be good for most autoX's for the next 10 years.

I use an AR-10...it will be good for every autox. unless you need a Hans device the AR-10 is legal. comfortable, great vision for a closed face. fairly cheap too

The AR-10 is Snell 2005. It's good for auto cross and track events.

Why can't you use the AR-10 with a Hans device?

doesnt come with the rings. i'm sure you could have em installed if ya wanted. If I were doing something that required Hans i'd probably buy a professional-level helmet though.

Yeah.. you can install hans D-rings on any helmet. Why would you move to a proffesinal level helmet.? They aren't any safer, just lighter becasue of kevlar and carbon construction.

I have the Finish Line Polesitter in Black. It was the most comfortable for me personally and I like the visor, since it will easily lock into several different positions and is easy to unlock from a closed position. Also, it is Snell-SA2005 DOT approved, of course.

They look pretty sleek too.

They run about $299.99. Got mine at a local shop, but you can get them online.

Here is mine:

Make sure you try on the helmet before you buy. All helmets of all different brands fit different, if you are a med in one brand and it fits great , it doesnt mean that a med in brandX will fit you too.

Definetly don't buy a helmet without trying them on. This is one item I wouldn't mail order. I went to the store to try them on. I live in the middle of nowhere and I had to drive 3 hours to the closest store. Call ahead to make sure they have all the sizes you want to try on in the helmet your looking for.

Fit and comfort are most important as mentioned.
