Default Driver Side glass problem

I am in the process of removing and fixing my driver side glass travel or removing the motor and making it manual so it is up during towing to the track and down during track time. I have removed the finishing cover and the manual says to remove the glass but my motor can not move the glass. Can I just unscrew the cover shield and get access to the motor and cables to free it up?

Any one have a suggestion or experience with this. If I remove the glass I still have to cover the window during towing. That is why I thought it would be best to leave the glass and just move it up for towing and drop it down for track time.

The motor of course is attached to the regulator. That regulator has a bracket that attaches to the bottom of the window.

If you remove the metal cover shield, you are correct that you can access everything which means you can unbolt the window from the bracket, then remove the motor and regulator from the door.

Since your motor/regulator is stuck, reaching the bolts may or may not be the easiest, but you should be able to reach the bolts anyway. Once you remove them, the window can slide out the top and placed back in without trouble.

Thanks for the fast response and help. Great , I started taking the bolts out then stopped to make sure I was not going to cause a problem I might regret later.
