I have removed everything up front..no Misc covers exist anymore.

Yes, the battery is in the Trunk, in a Sealed and vented to the Outside plastic battery Box from Summit Racing. It is bolted thru the truck floor...

Removing all the crappage in the engine makes maintenance and engine swaps easier!

Note: I now run a OEM Airbox...needed the Points...(this pics show a CAI) still have it is somebody wants it cheap.

Note 2: This pic show the car's wiring when the Battery was in the front...relocating the Battery to the rear DID NOT Require changing the Alternator Kill switch wiring...just the Hot side battery wiring.

Yepper, the fire system runs off a chemical reaction...not external power.

Hard to see in this pix, but there is a small cylinder that holds a catalyst that when mixed with the stuff in the big cylinder, shiate flys outta the outlets
C

Pull the "Oh Shiate" handle and that starts the reaction...

Oh, another quick question. Is that a sock over your power steering reservoir? I think know why. Mine spews crap every where over time. Is that why?

Yes, that is a official NISMO Racing Sock...LeMans approved

It prevents boiled/steaming powers steering fluid from spewing all over the engine compartment.

I now run Redline PS Fluid and don't have that problem any more...so no official NISMO Racing Sock any longer

I am too Laze1 to vent the PS to a catch bottle..

This wiring model would likely start a Fire!!!!

The Battery and Alternator would both be putting 12volt at a pretty high amperage on the same wires/circuits...all the time...not a good idea...

umm...don't do that!

I am no Engineer...but not a good idea

Would that not work?

The only exception I think would be if you had some type of fire suppression or any other safety feature running on power then you could wire that to bypass the kill switch.

So I finally got around to installing the 6 pole kill switch. Was a pretty easy install so I figured I better post up a few pics for others considering this.

-Moved the battery to the back of the car.
-Ran a cable from the battery to the drivers side dash/window(kill switch) and then to the OEM battery location.
-Spliced into the ignition wire (black/red), at the connector (E119) on the left side of the steering column, and ran it to terminial Z on the kill switch and back.
-Installed a patch cable from the alternator side of the battery cable to the W terminal on the kill switch.
-Installed the resistor on the other side of the w terminal and then patched it to ground.

Here's the installation instructions, 350z wiring diagram, and a few pics.

Hi guys, I know this thread is MANY MANY years old! so I am sorry for bringing it up. But I am about to install a kill switch on my car and been looking for instructions and I don't know why all the wiring diagrams are so confusing to me! I have a Longacre 4pole switch as seen here http://www.longacreracing.com/produc...l---4-Terminal

I want to obviously kill the battery and alternator. The wiring I am seeing so confusing! with jumpers, ignition and what not. Why can't I cut the battery + side, extend the wire to one side of the kill switch, then use another side from the switch back to the battery? And for the alternator, why can't I do the same? The way I am thinking about it in my head is like me installing the kill switch inline with both the battery and alternator, all I am doing is extending the wires to have the kill switch in between the 2? is this not right? will this be a problem if I do it as such?

Thanks

Are you using a 2 pole or 4 pole disconnect switch? You gotta have a 4 pole!...
