After my first engine rebuild, we changed all the bearings etc and I switched oil from Total to Castrol. I warped the head couple years after that so we had to open her up again. We looked at the bearings and other moving parts and they still looked fresh, considering the car went through a number of track days and autox during hotter months.
DE engine always need a thicker oil..i have an HR.
I would consider slightly heavier oil for track duty in Bahrain. Mobil1 0W-40 seems like a good choice. Extra oil cooler, a deeper pan, and an oil accumulator like Accusump would help. As a first step, take note of oil temperature and pressure during racing.
thanx.. but am not willing to spend that much.. plus in open track days i wont push the car for more than one lap (1 minute 20 sec) and then rest at lease 30 minutes.
I wouldnt over think it too much. Mobil1 0w40 will be fine. If youre worried, try it for a weekend or two and send it in to blackstone for analysis. Otherwise youre just listening to fan boys recommending x over y.
