Sound is not that great but that was no priority for this track car - a bit too raspy for my taste but at least it's quiet and I should have no problems at tracks with 98db noise limit. I gained 20 HP and 20Nm at the crank after tuning

One day at this track teaches you more about yourself and the car than the whole season at your local tracks!!!
PS. Finally a good balance with 14/6kg Swift springs and 3.9FD+Os Giken 1.5!

First ever real life race at Slovakia Ring! And a more relaxing open day at Autodromo Brno the next day - awesome track!
PS. 5th gear synchro is giving up! ;(

Yeah, I know man! The Slovakians and Chechs are so chilled out ... apparently you can race in endurance series like this one even without a racing licence!

This is my first ever sports car and I've only owned it for 1,5 years. Still plenty to learn but I was definitely not expecting to join an actual race at this stage lol

It's been a while! New custom built NA VQ37HR engine (lighter high compresion pistons, 280/272 cams, polished HR heads on top of 370z bottom end...) and finally some results! 1st place in the Time Attack Poland SPRINT class (second to the top OPEN class) at the biggest track in Poland. We've revised our goal after installing CAI and LTH now: 430 bhp! It's already at 412 bhp with stock intake and headers. Mind you, this is still a relatively heavy car on oem Brembo brakes and street Stance Supersport coilovers - THEY NEED TO GO NEXT! I may add some aero during winter as well.
NEXT GOAL: Nordschleife BTG < 8:00! Not sure if I get a chance to go this year, maybe I will.

Pity this thread was allowed to die, it is very informative for those prepared to wade through it. Poster armt350z particularly contributed some interesting comments and set up details eg he mentioned his rake being 18mm which is handy for this 350Z newb to know right now.

I'm alive! Everyone seems to be on FB nowadays.
The thing I'm struggling with the most is my car handling after all the mods, aero and... well, so far it looks like some imperfections in how this car's suspension was designed. Some guys in the US have this figured out. I'm still learning. The next step is to take the car to a proper motorsport shop, so they can reset everything (especially the ride height, CoG vs. Roll Center...), and set the corner balance right. I'm hoping that this will fix my bad handling issues (understeer mid- and out of a corner).
Let's see. It's not an easy car to mod and drive at a track. This I can tell you. I have a very close friend who started with me, but he bought an M3 e46 with an AT.... and at the last event he finally beat me! First time! He has pretty much the same power now but his car is like 100kg lighter...plus it looks like those BMW's are just better handling cars after some semipro race car mods. He literally just set everyting up at the very beggining based on some forum based tips, and he keeps on driving. His car handles like one in those racing games!
PS. I still have Stance Supersport coilovers and OEM Brembo brakes. My DIY master cylinder brace seemed to have helped with a soft brake pedal. But it looks like this car needs a proper set of shocks (Ohlins or KW Clubsport) and some proper racing brakes (AP Racing or Stoptech) in order to be competitive. Shocks more than BBK, just to you know how to set your priotities

I've been disappointed here about the lack of ultimate suspension advice but in the US, apparently, there is no class of racing where extreme mods are allowed. Plus the 350Z is getting old and the 370Z is a better track proposition anyway. But definately the best dampers you can afford, three way, K&W seem to be good. With MCA three ways on my other car I've found just a low speed bump tweak fixed severe corner entry understeer.
