Question about Z's in Grand Am series??

Looks like the Z's are doing very well with little development time and no help fron Nissan/Nismo.

I am curious to how they are doing so well, competing again 911s, M3s, S4s, etc......these are some serious cars with serious past development.

How much is each car able to be modified??

How is the Z able to do so well against the other cars?

any info is appreciated!!!

rodh,
We have had a little over a year under our belts developing the Z. While the rules for the series are pretty strict there is still some room for modifications.
We are only allowed certain engine modifications which include: balance and blueprinting of the engine, cold air intake, headers and exhaust, engine mang system and the addtion to the new Nismo S1 camshafts.
As far as suspension some of things we are running are 350EVO Delrin race bushing kit,350EVO adjustable sway bars, 350EVO front upper control arms and Moton race Dampers.
The next round should favor the 350Z's but there will be some tuff competition from the new caddy and the Porsche and BMW's.
We will be running our new car with support from our new engine builder so we will see how it goes. We havent been running too bad considering all 3 races this year we have been runing on 5 cylinders.
Our team concentrated oour efforts last year in the braking and handling department. The car is a great platform from the factory it just needs some tweaking to be competitive. Even still I belive the 350Z have to be driven to their full potential in the race to run up front were as the Porsche are so developed they can back off a little bit. Then new Caddy has been given so much for the series it really shouldnt be allowed in the Grand Am Cup series.
The 350Z is a great car at the track and I believe some wins are close.
