American Plastic Tech: US Made poly! Intro SALE inside
Hello my350z!
American Plastic Tech is officially a vendor on the forums!
For over 40 years our KBD product line has been fulfilling consumers needs for the highest quality polyurethane parts at the lowest prices.
Why Polyurethane?
Polyurethane allows production of durable components unlike fiberglass (FRP) that can easily break upon impact. Polyurethane is highly flexible and therefore more resistant to damage. Not only is polyurethane less prone to damage, Polyurethane is much less likely to exhibit issues typically associated with FRP, such as pinholes and other imperfections which increase the prep time (and cost) prior to paint and installation.
Why APT?
Every part we make is manufactured with the highest quality at our facility in Brea, California. Because we manufacture in the United States, we are able to take quality control to the highest level. Every part is individually inspected three times before leaving our facility! This leads us to our Limited Lifetime Warranty. If your part breaks or does not fit properly, due to manufacture defect, we will replace the part free of charge. We want our customers to know we are an American made company that will stand behind each product we build.
As a way of introducing ourselves to the forums, we are running a sale on our most popular products!

Without naming the vendor from whom I purchased a V2 poly bumper (who I am about to go after for providing a horrible quality and surprisingly heavy POS), I have two questions:
1) Is the finish OEM smooth, including edges? I got a poly bumper which is utterly full of dips/ripples/imperfections, and will require about 10 hours of filling and block sanding to get where it needs to be, and - for that reason - I'm looking for a refund from the other vendor, and buying another bumper.
2) Is your product as LIGHT as OEM, or is a THICK poly, and very heavy as a result?

To answer your questions, our bumper is an aftermarket bumper and is not paint ready if that's what you meant by "OEM smooth". Our body lines are very crisp, with the corners where the bumper ends and meets the fenders/hood are very clean and not rounded off. It does require prep work prior to paint ( test fit, drill holes, line up and make sure holes line up, wipe down with alcohol or other solvent, sand, primer, paint) which is typical procedure for any part, however we don't expect body shops to do major mods to get a part to fit right.
As far as weight, I don't know what the factory Nismo bumper weighs, however our bumper weighs around 15lbs.
I recorded this video in an effort to show how clean the body lines are:
Hope this helps, and should you have any further questions definitely let me know.

I paid close attention to that video.
The bumper you're offering looks exactly - and I mean exactly - like the Forcewerkz Nismo V2 bumper that I already have (even down to the weight of the piece). If you watch the glint of light off the front and top surfaces, it becomes evident that there are ripples/dents/dips in the surface. That means it requires more than a simple wipe with mould release remover; it requires a high-build flexible primer/surfacer at minimum, and possibly a polyflex filler or two part semi-rigid epoxy.
That's what I was looking to avoid, but what I'm stuck with.

Good morning Heritage,
You are correct, it does need to be primered before paint, which I stated as well.
As for glints of light, please see below:
It sounds like you were looking for a paint ready piece. In regards to our product, this is not the case.
Thank you,
American Plastic tech.
