I have an 03 touring with HID. My passenger side housing has cracks all over the outside. Could I just buy a set of halogen lights on ebay and take them apart to use the housings for my HID. While I had the lights open I was going to paint them. Thanks for the help

Im noticeing some people are having trouble getting the headligh tunpluged. I recently did this and found a easier way to do it. The left headlight (battery side) is pretty easy to get a flat head screw driver to to push in the little button that releases it because the cable is long enough for you to pull the head light out and get to the plug. The right side on the other hand has almost no slack to it and you cant get anything (srcewdriver) to it. There is a solution to that, here it is http://i318.photobucket.com/albums/m...htwirecopy.jpg. Once you pop out that little plastic guy it will give you more than enough slack to easily get at the plug. I hope this helps someone.

can someone show the area on the 03-05 headlights that you can paint?
I thought this was too much and would take away from the light output:

That is how I did mine, you won't have high beams anymore thats it. As long as you keep the area around the low beam chrome your good. You can keep your high beams too, if you just keep that area chrome also.

lol no thanks on giving up high beams

I think I'll just get the smoked reflectors and replace the amber blinker bulb with the silverstar bulb

Any way to remove the headlights without removing the bumper or does the bumper has to come off to remove the lights? Thanks!

You have to remove the bumper. It's not as bad as it looks, it's only a few bolts that hold it in.

My headlights on my 03 have haze and oxidation on the inside of the case. If I take the headlight off of the car, can I take apart the cover and polish the inside. Also is the baking of the headlight only for baking it?thanks

No he has no highbeams. I have mine painted the same exact way. You can see the part that he left chrome, thats the reg. head lights and the part right below is blacked out and thats the highbeam area. If you dont want to lose your highbeams all you do is mask off the bottom as well before you paint.

I took the headlights off yesterday and used the plast-X. That stuff works wonders on the headlights. Mine were really hazy and then I used it and they were almost crystal clear. Thanks

i put it in the oven for 12 min at 225 and then used a interior dash pry tool. i had good luck with that. what i did was stick the tool into the crack and turned to seperate the pieces. it took me 2 times in the oven to get it all the way apart. the housing sort of slides apart. hope that helped.
