Wow, I can't believe how easy that was. I've put up with this problem for over 5 years since I bought my Z. I literally got the old switch out in under 10 minutes. Now just waiting for the new one to arrive

My gf and I are going to to Florida in it soon and alternating drivers and I'm 6'5" and she's 5'3" so this DIY has been a lifesaver.

when you find the connector under the seat for the switch disconnect it and temporarily plug in the new switch and move the seat forward, i also found cutting the wire harness of the old switch made removal very easy, i pushed the plug of the new switch though the side and help guide it with a screw driver also very easy

this thread saved my wallet. Neither my passenger nor driver seat power switches were working continuously. I was able to get the passenger side switch rebuild without removing the seat and luckily the driver's side switch worked after 100 tries so I could remove the switch.

Neither switch had near the carbon deposits as the video posted in this thread shows, but they were dirty none-the-less. 2 hours of labor and both seats work as designed.
