so i just ordered 2 55w hid kits in the mail to replace the old crappy ones i currently have and then i came up with the idea to try using the old ballast on my DRL LEDS that are in my spyder headlights... does anyone know if you can do this or has anyone tried using ballasts on LEDS to make them brighter?

I went 100% led in my headlights. You can dim them easily, change RGB colors and they are more efficient.
LEDS operate at typically low voltages and you have to add resistors to run them at the cars 12V. Running a ballast will not work and is not needed.
If you want a brighter LED just run higher voltage to it....but be careful because you are shortening the life and with enough voltage you destroy the LED.

yep..all led is the way to roll.
speaking of which... im doing 10 (5 per side) frenched in 10watt projector leds in the bumper like the new rocket bunny frs bumpers ..that is not going to be cheap body work, but i want what i want lol..saving my electrical current for fuel pumps and fans and airbag compressors

Dam. Reading up more.
Can somebody confirm please... the Ironman ring is what size max?? I personally called TRS and the guy put me on hold to ask coworkers w 350z s and they all said 100mm. Is this way too big too big for Ironman?
I ordered the 100mm BC the guy confirmed that was the correct size. Should I call them to get the 80mm??

Yellow jdm turn covers deleted and dimple plates deleted. Leds on 4 strips above in corners along w Ironman and blue demon. Sti-R lenses and brand new outside lenses swapped as well. Will get rid of that amber turn signal shine soon as well. Shaving the cf air duct and repainting entire front end soon enough. Shout out to cux.....Thanks 'bruh' ...

Just bought the 100mm for the xbled. Do you happen to know what the size is for the outside? as in if I was doing iron man mod as well as halo, what is the size of that halo ring? I read the whole thread and confused as **** on that size

From what I was told by Diode Dynamics, the outer is 80mm.
but then again it wasn't a XBled but rather a smd ring.
I'd still give the 80mm a go and see.
If it doesn't work out, hopefully TRS can exchange it.

An 80mm xbled will work fine for an outer halo. I attached a pic in my previous comment showing how it looks. I'm using a 80mm on the outside and a 100mm inside. Both are xbled's from TRS by the way.
