thanks, but another questions: are moog bads? according to my little experience with the brand, they ain't bad, but for a SUV and high performing cars as ours is, i dont know if the holds the name, please someone chime in, thanks in advance

Just attempted this procedure this weekend but failed, had to take it to a shop

Got that one really difficult bolt out by using a long, thin extension and the smallest (low profile) 17" mm socket I could. It is not easy but do-able. Required getting the steering angle just right to have enough room to work. My problem was after getting all the bolts off the darn hub wouldn't budge! In retrospect I should have put the wheel back on and used it as leverage to help pull the hub out. Once the wheel and rotor are off there isn't anything to really grip the hub itself with. What you really need is a slide hammer / hub puller. There is a reason they sell specialty tools. Hopefully this note might assist others.

Also had the problem with dust shield getting slightly bent and rubbing against the rotor once I put everything back together. So keep an eye out for that.

This might sound strange but is it possible to remove the wheel hub assy with the wheel still mounted? I have 2 stripped studs,and I can't get the lug nuts off. I figured i could pull the wheel hub off and cut the head of the stud off with a dremel. I tried drilling the studs out but after going through a few drill bits i gave up.

Wow- Nissan engineered the Z so the wheel hubs are extremely difficult to remove with the wheel still attached. The only time I've ever seen this accomplished is after a racing accident in which the entire wheel was ripped off a car after hitting a wall or tire barrier. Not something you want to have happen to your Z!

Take it to a wheel/tire shop and have them remove the wheel...

In theory, If i can remove the brake caliper and bracket, then remove the 4 hub bolts, the hub would come right off without removing the tire. Is there something i'm missing? I really don't want to drive the car with only 3 tight lug nuts.

Theory is crap- you're gonna tear up a lot more of your car (and yourself) trying to do this. Use your insurance or just hire a cheap tow to get you to the tire store. Or you can spend hours at hard labor and still be stuck..your choice.

Thanks for the "Theory is crap" comment. It motivated me to prove you wrong. I didn't even have to wreck my car to get it off. Maybe next time you should have some facts to back yourself up before you start running your mouth.

If I may add on one last piece of advice to this thread I would say to have a large pair of channel locks or C-clamp handy. After getting the hub assembly and rotor back on I had a hell of a time getting the caliper to fit back onto the rotor. After scratching my head a bit I realized the piston had slightly compressed. Take your channel locks and squeeze that puppy back in. Caliper went on no problem.

I have a noise when driving that sounds like a bad wheel bearing, but I put the car up and checked the wheels for play and they were as sold as a rock. What can cause this problem. It get louder when I turn.
Can anyone help with a suggestion.

I have the rotor off all of the bolts holding on the hub but the hub wont budge ive tried pb blast rubber mallet hammer sledge hammer and it still wont budge

Try bolting the wheel back on and turning it left and right with the car's weight on it.

Just had my driver's side replaced a few weeks ago since it was making alot of noise. However the passenger side is still quiet. My car has over 100k on it now ['05], so I was curious should I replace the passenger side as well or just wait for it to go out too?

just replaced mine, i would not recommend it everyone just replaces the whole assembly only the rear can/is done separately

Are you guys getting OEM replacement or aftermarket? I seen somebody saying the OEM is garbage. I seen one at ebay with lifetime warranty. Question is getting that warranted.
