Pins were missing from my kit as well, and in fact I was wondering if there were supposed to be pins at all till I saw this thread.
I am also not certain- where exactly do the shims go? Horizontally beneath the silver plate at the top? Or vertically between the pads and the piston? Or hanging from the rearview mirror like baby booties? Lol....
Fantastic kit, just wished it had a little more in the way of instructions.

i talked to coz from conceptz..... he told me that they are in the brake pad box attached to the greese bag... whch is rite... they are taped onto the small bag of grease....
plus they have really good service.. he was willing to send me some rite away if i didnt have them,

Thanks Twin001 for creating this DIY...its actually as easy as it sounds... i would rate this 4 out of 10 difficulty. and if u have a friend who is willing to help u out it works out even better.... i ordered the motive power bleeder and after installing brake realized that they F(*&@# sent me wrongg adapters... and had to go online and find a DIY to bleed the brakes old school way... but it worked out fine... and now brakes are fine and compared to stock its huge difference...

Great write up, I am about to throw a kit on also... I have one question, when installing the new lines, how do you 'close it off' to keep all the fluid from draining?

Correct installation
I have found 2 ways of installing Plate/Bracket.
So...What is the proper way of installing it?
Figure A.
From Dealer. The Plate/Bracket hooks are facing upwards. Highlighted in the red box.
Figure B.
From Forums. As you can see it looks the like Plate/Bracket is inverse from figure A. And the hooks are facing downwards

Im currently doing this and right now the parts im stuck at are a. removing/trimming dust shields ( I don't have anything to trim and I'm working on removing... but no luck). Also I'm having difficulty removing rear calipers. Oh welllll I loved finally removing the front rotors though haha what accomplishment!

Everything is installed on mine.. just have to bleed. Also, i did the plate brackets as shown in the diagram above. I have NO CLUE how you got yours to fit that way. Try as I might I couldnt get the second pin in.

Does anyone know the oem rotor weights of the 2003 g/z brembo and the 2005+ g/z , so we could compare ??????
Also since im here and this thread is pretty dead, has any used this setup to track? but with slotted / drilled stoptech rotors, and track pads with fluid and ss lines???? Results?

First, I weighed the Akebono kit at work.
Adapter Brackets, front left and right: 1.8lbs
Hardware, front: 2 lbs (reuse existing rear hardware)
Front Calipers: 10 lbs each
Rear Calipers: 5 lbs each
Front Rotors (14" Stoptech Slotted): 27lbs each (
)
Rear Rotors (13.8" OEM blanks, vented): 18lbs each ()
Adapter Brackets, front left and right: 1.8lbs
Hardware, front: 2 lbs (reuse existing rear hardware)
Front Calipers: 10 lbs each
Rear Calipers: 5 lbs each
Front Rotors (14" Stoptech Slotted): 27lbs each (
)Rear Rotors (13.8" OEM blanks, vented): 18lbs each (
)Front OEM Non-Brembo Caliper: 13.25lbs each
Rear OEM Non-Brembo Caliper: 6.5lbs each
Front OEM Non-Brembo Rotor: 15.5lbs each
Rear OEM Non-Brembo Rotor: 11.75lbs each
So in total, the difference is:
Front Caliper: -3.25 lbs x 2
Rear Caliper: -1.5 lbs x 2
Front Rotor: +11.5 lbs x 2
Rear Rotor: +6.25 lbs x 2
For a total of 26 lbs weight gain going from OEM Non-Brembo to Akebono setup.
