as the first page of instructions say, use a prybar to force the compression rod down. The lever point is right at the bushing (more inner of car), not the ball joint (more towards the wheel). Using a prybar sounds like hard work, but it fell down very easily for me.

I had a weird one with this today, did the passenger side first, no problem.
Pressed out the driver side bushing (I had SuperPro in there), then went to press the spl in place... If just fell through the hole!
I measured the spl, it's roughly 60.4mm, so I believe it's fine and that somehow the compression rod has distorted, strange.
Anyone else had that?

New arm on the way, and no, I didn't drive around on it.

EDIT:
New arm worked, so pressed in as usual

Nice, Ive noticed it definitely matters what installation you're on and what the AD population is. Ft Detrick is probably the tiniest base Ive been on with the smallest Hobby shop, vs APG which use to be an AIT training location and its Hobby shop was well put together and very clean

Thanks for the write-up. FYI, if anyone is having trouble finding the recommended DOM steel tubing, you can get it online. http://www.onlinemetals.com/

Oh boy, The passenger side was a b!.ch !!!, I soaked it in WD-40 for days before doing the install but it was rusted & fused to the bolt.

Had to use a chisel, pry bar, pipe wrench, hammer, gear puller ... to get it out ...

Default bushing removal with autozone loaner tool

Hey i just did my whole front end with the whiteline essentials kit. I found that the autozone master ball joint press kit ( part # 27310 )comes with a receiving tube that works perfect to press out the old bushing. It has a stepped end which also aids in centering. Popped them right out using my harbor freight 12 ton press.

Hope you see this, but what compression rods did you buy off amazon? I heard some aftermarkets don’t work with spl bushings?
